Well I was planning on going to Island4x4's trail run today until I clued in that it is the first Saturday of the month (ie next Saturday when I am on duty) So I grabbed a buddy anyway and off we went to Leechtown (near Sooke B.C. Canada). Leechtown is an abandoned mining town from the 1890's and I have wanted to photograph it for about 10 years.
Well the logging company didn't cooperate and we couldn't access the road up this time (a future trip using a different route is planned for later in the summer)
We explored a bunch of roads and ended up on top of Mt Baldy at 1007m elevation (3000+ft) after starting from sea level.
My 4Runner behaved flawlessly and seemed happy to get to stretch on the mountain trails.
My friend Sean was a little scared, he is from Ontario and has never done mountain road 4x4ing before.
The day wrapped up with a BBQ at my bosses house for my whole crew.
Pictures to follow, but I am too tired tonight to put them up.
