I just got home, decided to crash at Marc’s house last night. I think I’ve got the over heating thing fixed. I think the Runner was just stressed out, ˟˟˟˟˟ she almost lost a rear window and I was giving her hell most of the day Saturday.

We didn’t ride Sunday, it rained most of Saturday night and early Sunday morning.

My carnage report: 2 nice sized bents in the rocker panel (didn’t have sliders , “Note to Self” main thing to get this week is sliders), 1 really good sized dent in the rear bumper, and I added more scratches.

I think I lost 20 pounds Saturday . I was sweating bullets on trail 5. It has a lot of off camber stuff with trees right on the trails edge. Brett got video of it and the video will probable show just how stressed I was.

Now that I think back, I don’t think that was a very popular trail. When we were letting the Runner cool down I didn’t see one rig come through that trail.

Brett, I’ll email you the server information later tonight so you can upload the videos.

Good Times

"Good times" was the saying of the weekend. The trails were a blast but very "new" and can use some more traveling time to wear them in good. Trais were made of lots of mud, rocks, logs, Huge earth mover tires. Lots of places to try different lines at obstacles, plenty of hill climbs both rocky and muddy. Lots of off-camber stuff as well....this place has something for everyone. But again needs more vehicle travel time which should happen in time. The place could use a bath house.....only port-o-jons and some outdoor open showers (beach type) were available. The place was packed though...great turn out!

Looking forward to the videos...too bad I didnt take a look before Brett left.

Well yes, how long do you mean? I have one of Marc that is 4 minutes long. The problem with the longer vids is that the file size gets huge-that 4 minute one is about 28meg. I don't have the bigger memory stick yet if that is what you're referring to. I tend to shorten the video's some when I edit them as to cut out some of the stopped or backing up stuff.

Will you have a locker by then? If so, then I guess I have to try Slickrock first since I have the winch, huh?

You don’t think the Runner could make SlickRock without a locker (jk)? I’ve got two more salvage yards to call tomorrow about an e-locker so if that pans out I’ll be ready.

Man it would be awesome to see your rig take on SlickRock. I’ll have to get hung up on a rock just so you’ll have to come up (jk) .

Did you get a spot at Crawford's yet?

Not yet, I'm calling Crawford tomorrow. You and Marc can crash on my site. I'm gonna call Allpro (if they answer the phone) and see what the schedule is b/c I probably won't be able to come up until Friday morning/midday.

There is only one vid of me-getting a little air time on that hillclimb. Most of the videos were taken on one trail that I elected to pass on. The other main trail that we were on-I forgot to take pics and video of me stuck on the log and people hanging on my sliders to keep me upright.

Cool! That's typical for me too if I'm videoing. I never seem to get my truck somehow. Imagine that!

You got it! The reason we got all the video is b/c I skipped that one trail and walked it and ran the video camera instead. Greg was sweating bullets on that trail-he was had to brave the bushes for a new path b/c there was one tree that would have definitely gotten his rear drivers side window if he hadn't-all that caused his rig to overheat badly-needless to say we spent a lot of time on that trail. It would have been right up your alley though!

Yeah, I'd go again. Next time my tire won't be on the roof and I'll be able to disconnect b/c the bodylift will be on ( I ordered a 1"), so I'll be more prepared-plus I'll know what to expect. It'll need to be dry like it was this past weekend-that place would be impossibly slick when it's wet. Camping sucks though and the biting flies are horrible there, so we might need to butter up Mark into letting us crash there again, if he doesn't mind.

I don't know the schedule for the place though? This past weekend was kind of a test to see if there was enough interest to open it more and I would think there is b/c there must have been close to 1000 people there. Not quite that many trucks though, but hey it was $10 just to get in or $20 for a driver (entire weekend) so they should have raked in some nice cash.
