Evan's Creek May 24th
I am taking a few rigs up to Evan's Creek this weekend. We will run 311 and 519 - generally moderate trails.
We might find a little snow up there still. We found plenty up on FS70 yesterday. I don't know what our elevation was. We stopped to get the kids out to play at one of the intersections that takes off to Government Meadows.
Anyway, we're leaving from Milton a 9:00, - meeting a Faith Family Church. We'll be at the 410 café in Buckly at 9:30 if anyone want's to meet us there. Let me know if you plan on coming so that we don't miss people.
If we have the right group of people and the conditions are OK we may try the short but difficult section of 102. We got hung up there last time with a Bronco that was just plain too big!
Who wants to go?

From another BBS I'm on.
Some buddies and I were at Evan's Creek Saturday 5-17 in what had to be the biggest snowstorm I've ever been in during the month of May.
The trails were in decent shape but the access roads were covered with snow with quite a lot in the areas above the campground. The access road out of the top of 311 was particularly nasty as it was pretty deep (about 2-3 feet) and very unforgiving if you went a little off track. We were planning on going up to the logpile and the 520 but changed our minds while driving down from the 311. The 102 was slicker than snot but not enough snow to worry about.
Our Jeeps were for the most part all locked front and rear with 3+
inches of lift and 32's or better. Stock rigs would not have had an
enjoyable time.
Hope this helps you decide what you want to do. A week of sunshine could make a huge difference.

your wife told me about your fun after we left last weekend. Wish we coulda seen that.
I just don't understand trying to go across the track sideways because frontwards was too easy...
Oh yeah, I COMPLETELY understand that HAHAHAHAHAHA
Glad to see you had everything working good. If you'd aired down those tires, I think you mighta made it from looking at the pictures.

Well, I got *helped* through one small section, by Gibby with his tow rope. Thanks Gibby!! And I took one small hit to the right rear tail light area..... Hopefully the drive home tonight will be smooth after that heavy beating I took! Great run. A couple breakdowns. An Amigo with a slipped yoke. That was fun. And then Gibby had a couple of problems. His rear arb wouldn't engage in one area, and he lost his steering temporarily. Other than that, we had minimal damage in the group. Pics will be posted pretty soon. They are uploaded. They just need to be linked.

Logan took a few pics and I'll get the report up tomorrow. I'll add whatever you get.
Here's a shot of Keith just seconds before the front driveline pulled apart.

Yes, that was all 311. We were going to run the 197 loop but we had to wait for some jeeps t come down and they took for ever so we didn't go.
Logan and I did go play on 102. It was like Tahuya, lotsa big puddles to splash in and clean off the mud :o)
We were hoping a few more of the Yotatech folks on the trip. Whaddya gotta due to get these guys on a run?

Arg... hey dale, does your laptop have problems with IE, all of a sudden going back a page and losing all the stuff you had typed? Anyways, I made it home without getting pulled over. I realized after I was on the road we should have swapped the backup bulb with the turn signal bulb. Oh well. Came home to find my California Tax return on the table. $265...... but my mom seems to think that I've already spent enough on the truck. I knew I should have waited for both tax returns before I spent the money.... I think I'll be able to talk my way through a front locker.....

Yes, if you are in a post and then click forward, or backwards, your post will go South on you.
No way around it.
The page checks for a new version each time you go forwards or backwards.
This is why when I compose a big post I will copy the text to the clipboard just in case the server burps, or I lose my cable connection for a minute or two.
Been there done that many a time and had to re-do a whole post over.
It's usually the big ones I spent a lot of time on that get lost.
