Eagle Lakes/Fordyce/Signal Peak this Sunday! (Nor Cal)
Trying to make a run up to Fordyce's first creek crossing this Sunday, I have one confirmation tentative so far, there may be some snow but hopefully this week will help melt most of it...if there's too much, we can go as far as we can...Sunday is supposed to be a really nice day like in the 80's.
Here's the thread to last years trip report:
https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f100...videos-186468/
Requirements:
-Min. 33's and one locker (possibly 31's and a locker and winch depending on how the rest of your rig is set up)
-Sliders, bumpers, etc... unless you don't care about damage or are lifted high enough
-Recovery points
(low gearing highly recommended but not required if you know how to work the clutch well enough)

Last weekend at ice house reservoir in eldorado national forest I hit snow at 5500ft. On the road to wrights lake the snow started to get deep at 6000ft.
The elevation for Fordyce 5600 - 7100. Hopefully that will give you an idea of the snow line even though it was a little south.

Honestly, with how high you are I think you could make it without problems, I went to the first creek crossing with gettin strapped 3 times no lift open/open on 31's and only got a little dent (I did have rock sliders and the MC rear bumper though) but if you're careful and some good spotting on the rough spots I think you can get through no problem especially with having the control of lockers etc...(you may hit that rear bumper though, it sticks down kinda far)
hmmm thanks for the heads up, were just goin to the first creek crossing so the elevation should stay on the low end and hopefully some of that snow melted away this week, I doubt well make it to signal peak but if we get around to it we can see how far we can get up it...

Yeah I looked at some pictures from the Fordyce forum on Pirate, and it did look like there was snow, but the FOF crew ran through there and they cut all the downed trees and they dug out the really off camber stuff (that was due to snow) so with there tracks already cut through and I'm sure others as well, we should be able to get pretty far, we may not go down the final 300 yards or so down to the creek cause that's the hardest part and in the snow it may not be a good idea, we'll just have to decide when/if we get there.
The best/easiest place to meet may just be at Cisco Grove, do you know how to get there? It's just the exit past Eagle Lakes exit up about a mile, or we can meet up earlier along 80 like exit 135 I think it is where they have the starbucks, subway, taco bell etc exit. Let me know what you want to do. I'll pm you my number.
