Coyote Canyon Anza Borrego
Hi
Does anyone have recent knowlegde of the condition of this road/trail? Are there any restrictions (I know it was mentioned a while back the possibility of temporarily closing it to 4wd vehicles).
I am heading out to test my neighbors FJ there on Sunday. Anyone else from San Diego heading out to the desert this weekend?
Cheers,
Carsten

I think the 78 is gonna be closed soon for bridge repair. That is the only time the endangered bats are out of town. Better check caltrans to make sure the 78 coming from julian is still open.

We were out there on MLK weekend, the trail is in good condition no problems to speak of other than the overzealous ranger who "was receiving complaints about it being too rough" so she was out on the trail moving rocks around to "smooth things out" My gosh...
Anyways, have a good trip out there weather should be perfect

I think the closure is after this weekend, but we mightl bypass 78 via Montezuma Valley road anyway.
Edit: Just saw you posted the closure dates.
Maybe we should bring an extra vehicle (4runner) in case we get stuck and not rely on a Jeep

That does sound a bit over the top. Thanks for the update
