Thought I'd check in...

Too bad I'm probably heading up to see my uncle in Michigan this weekend. My wife and I owe him a visit and I'd really like to see him. Have fun guys and post pics.

I just bought a bunch of goodies for the K5, so my paycheck will determine whether or not i will be there. If my boss decides to work tommarow and not call it off due to both of us being sick, then i will be there. If he calls the day off and we dont work, then i will end up short on cash. I never thought i would be hoping so much that i have to work.

Now add up fuel, food, unexpected breakages, and it is no longer a $15 dollar day. What trails are you guys planning to run?

Haha...I thought you were talking about $15 for tickets to the Detroit autoshow :pat:

"breakages" - just make Mike and Rob go first.

so who is actually going? wife and i havne't decided if we are comming in the morning or the night before yet, but we plan on being there. I invited a few friends but no one has for sure confirmed yet.....one buddy with a 95 Z71 might come, and another with a durango might come, but I doubt it on both of them.

I begged you guys to schedule it the weekend before or the weekend after labor day .. but no ... everyone could only go when they had a three day weekend. Its not like we camp out there or anything.

Have fun this weekend guys and when you guys see a black 4runner climbing the rocks in the quary at 40 mph .. just point and scream out "you da man!!"

I was going to ask what you guys did for communications. we normaly use FRS radios. if I still make it I will take you up on tht offer..thanks. but not sure now if I will make it. wife called me and said my heater wasn't working....after trying to figure out that over the phone she says "is it bad if the temp needle is on the 'H'?" so not sure what is going on there. jsut had water pump replaced so wonder where it is leaking now. I asked her how long it has been like that and she said off and on since yesterday. so hopefully she didn't fry the motor!!!

BTW how do their orange flags mount? I wrote them and asked and all I got back was 1/2" stud....do I need to bring soemthing or what?

Dang, hope it's nothing drastic. Cuz this run will be one you won't want to miss!

As for the flags, we usually just stick them up through our rear windows and roll the window up till it holds the flag there. No need to really mount it anywhere.

Forrest made it back finally, but he wont be attending...why? Cause he did the last 175 miles on the back of a tow truck:

Still, its a pretty bad ass 4Runner. Has no top though...he drove through 6 hours of snow as is. Has forst bite on his ass.

That would be an '89 SAS'd. Did it all himself in 5 days. Still needs a front drive shaft though.

Im so proud of him
