The back forty @ Tahuya
I was bored today so a friend, my girlfriend and I decided to head out to Tahuya to see what kind of trouble we could find. We found that there was a little snow on the ground, maybe two inches in the openings, but not enough to cause trouble. We also found the back forty and it is tight. There were a total of two rigs and it took about 1.5 hours from the time we hit the back forty trail head until the time we were back on the road. There was some technical stuff that required the use of the lockers, mostly to prevent damage. I found myself up against a tree twice, once I was caught between a tree and a rock, luckily when I got out to see the damage the door closing caused the dent to pop out.
The only bypass on that trail was where they placed the three rock gardens, too big for me. Depending on which way you travel the rock gardens are at the very beginning or very end.
Out of a possible 5 on the fun factor I will give it a strong 4.2. On the the technical scale I would say a 3 to 3.5 due to the snow and tight, tight tree laden trail.
EDIT - The 3.5 is on my scale of technical difficulty. Not sure how the true scale works or what is involved to rate a trail.

Oh how I am looking forward to those rock gardens
That Back 40 trail was where Lawnjob snapped his CV on the last chapter run out that way.
For a popular trail rating system, see http://www.wattora.com/ldord.htm I would say that trail is a 3.3 or so...

Very cool in the backforty!! Very tight and some cool tight, off camber, turns with tree hugging closeness. Ouch!! Nice job on the 2wd high gear, two spin away from the tree's Ben! Had a great time.
The water crossings were farily low - but plenty of them. Everyone going will should have a great time. The hill climbs are definitely getting there share of tire holes. Riff raff is deeper, and the back forty provides the begging of another Riffraft trail section.
See you on the 10th!

God I'd love to get out wheeling... Unfortunately I'm still having shock hoop issues, not much happier with how the AllPro hoops are fitting. They're better than the first set but still not right for my shocks, they need a little bit more height and the tabs are welded on at the wrong f'ing angle for external res shocks.

The quest continues, for someone with a tube bender and a new heater cause mine broke and it's frickin' cold in my garage without it.
I've thought about picking up a manual bender and 1.5" die set since I'm going to want one soon anyways to build a cage, but I really wanted to do a hydro setup. Decisions, decisions...
