i'll be there fri, hopefully mid-day. i was origionally planning on leaving sunday, but since i am moving on sunday night, i may have to leave late sat night. greg (MNBOY) sent me a pm saying he would be out there on thursday, so i told him to grad one of the areas along the main road where there are the picnic tables and canopies, if there were any available. i think most were planning on staying from fri thru sun

I'll bet Sat night will be the best night. It was at the CO4RJ and the EC4RJ and AZRocks.

Leave Sunday morning early.

Looks like we'll be on the road about 1pm arriving approx. 5-6 hours later...seems that I95 south to the 10 west looks to be the quickest route.

CB channel 4?

I may have to come out Sat after work just to hang out and party. Drink some beer, and do some wheeling on Sunday.

Who's the trail boss?
We only checked out Lower coyote canyon, we might have time to check out Truckhaven on Fri afternoon before everyone gets there. But if you know more of the area (Like hard ˟˟˟˟˟ for you and Steve) Please feel free to lead. Oh yeah, Justin from the Discount store in La Mesa said Hi, and he would be out there somewhere for a poker run this weekend in his Samurai.

Lance I'll PM you my #, I was getting decent coverage out there by Borrego, we'll see about Ocotillo. I think CB channel 4 is good and maybe 16 as a backup?

Scott, Corey said you changed your email address but then didn't confirm it. That's why your account got messed up. Also, on Oct 22 he said he PM'd you twice and emailed you at both your email addresses and you never replied to him. This is why I'm addressing this here and not PMing you, I'm not sure if you would get it.

How was the trip?

Have to deal with any fire or road closures?

Rob and I got back into San Diego at about 12:30. Not even a 1/2 hour later they shut down the 8 in both directions.
I cant breathe--I am going back to the desert. I would rather breathe the dust.

Oh we ran into Nobody in Julian on the way back. Apparently someone gave him bad GPS coordinants and he ended up at a dump. Didn't seem to happy about it.

Yeah, really great trip. I can't believe no one got pics of Lances' carnage, his right side got customized.
Big thanks to Steve for the great deal on the Skidplate, I'm sure it will serve me well.
As far as Nobody from Vegas, which set of coordinates led you to the dump? Who posted them? We were on ch 4 that night when you said you got there, it sucks you couldn't find us.
Great pics Dave! Glad you got a pic of me through the tight part of the trail. Does that trail have a name? See you next time.

We are back in quiet dust and fire free Arizona.

What was the name of that sand dune hill?

I think it was: Blow Sand Hill, Is that right?

What was the name of the trail Dave took us to? The tight one in the badlands?

Had a blast everyone
Yeah, I did encounter some carnage (unfortunately) but it's okay. I have other problems that I'd like to address and let you guys give me some ideas on what to pursue.

On the way home, I noticed/felt vibrations at 50mph+. This was pretty severe that it forced me to drive home very very slowly

Okay so the vibrations start at 45 - 70 and then stops from 70-75. It comes back at close to 80 and at that points it's real bad. I did a few times to diagnose the problem. After a few attempts I quickly gave up and just drove slow

Okay I thought it might be a wheel that got off balance or something. So what I did was take a quick look at my wheels and noticed a notch in my counterweight on the wheel. So I figured that was the case and just drove home slowly until I can figure out what to do.

I went to Costco (the closest place that can balance tires...) and had them balance all 4 wheels thinking that this problem might go away. As you can figure it hasn't. Problem still persists so either they don't know how to balance the tires or it's a problem that far more severe.

Anyone want to take a shot at this?

Tomorrow, I plan to take the wheels off and check my entire suspension (maybe a loose part or something?).

Lance

yeah steve, blow sand hill. that trail is labeled truckhaven rocks on the map, but it's not labeled as a trial, just an area. i had a blast. too bad about our bumpers, rob.

nobody, we were wondering if you were gonna make it. sorry to hear that you made that trip and were hunting for the site all weekend. i went back and looked at the coordinates that were posted, and they point to the ranger station next to us. that sucks. really sorry to hear about that, i know that was a hell of a drive, and you must have been looking forward to this.

i'll get my pics up asap, as soon as i find my data cable to my camera.

lance, mayeb your way way out of alignment. i know it's a sore subject, but can you post pics of your carnage?
