There should be a tech inspection and drivers meeting for each trail at the big gathering Sat. Morning. Each level of trail has different requirements- I think they will just check for tire size and a locker for your run. Having the normal safety equipment is a good plan anyway. If you plan to pull off the doors, bring goggles- the dust from the lakebed to the trail head can be intense.

I expect it to be pretty windy in April, (like it can be in Vegas) so be prepared for that too.

No he does not, all you "need" is a rear and 33's. I still think you guys should come and sign up for the SUV run. I think Aftershock is a bit too hard for you guys.

I think it will be challenging for me.

As long as I'm still vertical I will be - somebody has to keep the youngsters in-line, might as well be me.
I'll try and get there a couple days early so I can pre-run a couple trails that I've been advised to stay clear of, so I'll know if I'm too wide or not before I tag along and hold the group up. That pansy-assed, split-tail Aftershock is probably the only one wide enough for the Beast, we'll see, come April.

 

There's nothing wrong with after shock. If you want to do a harder trail you really need a white trash special.

 

Ya, I'm just jerkin' your chain a little. Dave & Chris both recommended I keep to Aftershock, so that's what I signed up for. However, if I can get there a little early, Dave offered to guide me around, just to see if the Tundra can get it's nose into spots without getting it "bloodied". No doubt I'll probably break something while cruisin' that left coast valley and a youngster like you should just jump right in and fix the problem for ole farts like me. I plan on stopping by Moab for a couple days on my way back, so if you or other rock stompers are interested in a little side trip, we can make it a hella of a 2 week fun run, otherwise, it'll just be me and my two faithful traveling companions, Jack Daniels and Jim Beam.

 

The toughest part in Aftershock is the last obstacle at the end of the trail, where it's easy to do some body damage.



The rock on the passenger side can reach out and bite ya easily if your not careful.

Aftershock should be fun, but we can always go for clawhammer on Sunday

 

Cool. Vern is an old fart too. He's 58 or 60 I don't remember. I have to report back to duty on Monday so I won't be able to go to Moab. I wish I could though.

With one raffle ticket per entry, the odds of winning something are really outstanding!
