I’m just an enthusiast, not a professional upholsterer, so I’m not set-up to do shift boots. I started doing the knobs out of my own frustration of not being able to find anyone to recover my old shift knob.

 

SR5 Shift Pattern Crystal restoration. A whole lotta tedious and detailed prep using dental pics, sandpaper, and my patience... I’ll post a picture of the finished knob.

My first effort restoring a wood knob. This one I call the “Crown Jewel”. Perfect Emerald Green shift pattern crystal, wood knob, and chrome collar. Three step process following sanding off the old scaly clear and varnish involved oil-based pre-stain wood conditioner, Sedona Red Stain, and several coats of urethane clear. Never seen another one like it. Pictures don’t do this one justice.
