so, is it going to be "4RORA" or "4ROC"? Or are we waiting for another suggestion?

I'm not sure where it going, to be honest with you. Personally, I’m not real fond of these two suggestions. Not because they are bad, but because they are not original. "4RORA" is an obvious take off of TTORA and implies off-road. "4ROC" reminds me of IROC Z28’s!

Call me fickle, but I would like to have a name that reflects some of the unique qualities of the vehicle and their owners.

Please, if you have an idea, no matter how outlandish or odd, please submit it. I personally like “FORAY” a play on “4A” - 4Runner Association.

I hope now that this board has really taken off (thanks to some really hard working folks!) we will be able to gather a more diverse pool of ideas.

I am still open to names too. I read on ODW the other day that someone wanted to see a 4Runner club.
I don't think they know that we have had a forum setup here for this future club and the discussion of it.

I would like to see this take off, and for companies to jump on board to offer discounts to members.

How are we going to get this off the ground
Corey

Decisions need to be made.

Once a name and charter is agreed upon, the rest is pretty much busy work. We could have a club up and running within a month. Lets get this name thing going right way!

4RORA
4ROC
FORAY

Next...?

I like
A spin off of NATO. That name is sure to draw attention.
I really like it, as it does mean 4Runner also since they are built on the truck chassis.
To bad you can't get the abb. in there for 4Runner to though.
Keep these ideas coming.

I like 4ROC, also. I would join in and instant. I would love to see a badge for the vehicles. That would be super sweet

Actually the NATTO would be written as NAT²O.

4ROC v. FORAY

At first i really liked 4ROC cause it sounded a little tougher than some of the other suggestions, but I would hate to have X-Terra people giving us $#!+ about how we ripped off XOC (although there are other Owners Clubs out there, Adam mentioned the Surf Owners Club). Intially I wasn't big on FORAY but it's been growing on me. It is definitely unique so it would stand out. I'm cool with either, I just think we should go ahead and pick something. Maybe we could start a poll here and on ODW to pick the name so we can get this thing rolling.

Hi Gene, the "4A" makes me think of 4-H.
Sorry if I am the only one. Mine is probably no better; 4RTA. 4-Runner Toyota Asc. If that is even usable. From
the definition forte; An activity one does
with excellence.

Question

At some point don't we just need to list the possible names and vote on one ???

No offense, but FORAY sounds...well... yea it stinks. Too happy, too, I wanna go to Disneyland mommy. I also vote for 4ROC. It's got dual meaning, 1. the club name 2. For Rock
Just like a band, I believe alot of their successs depends on the name.

We can certainly set up a poll with a few names. I just compiled a quick list from this thread and came up with:

4ROC: 4Runner Owner's Club
4RTA: 4Runner Toyota Assoc.
NATTO: National Association of Toyota Truck Owners
4RORA: 4Runner Off-Road Association
FORAY: 4Runner Association

On a side note, it seems to me that there may be a legal issue when using the word "Toyota" in a name. Since Toyota is not a participant.

Any more names that should be added to the list for consideration?
