I don't know how it would look, but what about throwing in a US flag under the "4R".
Never thought of that one. Let me try to find a little pic of the flag.

One thing though, this is intended to become an international club someday. So either theirs would have no flag or we'd have to place a Canadian flag on it, etc. Plus, this would raise the cost of printing these stickers.

Hey Prolax,

Want to do me a favor- why don't you contact someone over at Street graphics, the same guys that make the TRD stickers that alot of us have gotten, and try to get an idea on price for some of these stickers. I wouldn't worry about trying to negotiate hard core or anything at the moment, but see if they'll give you prices on the design most people have agreed on, tell them to give prices on a couple different sizes, probably an email would work.

Hey Gene

Gene any word on that PSD becoming available? As long as we are committed to the design we might as well get it out there, especially if it becomes the single common feature for each chapter.

Yeah, if it does go continental then you could just replace the flag with their own flag.

It was just a thought. I'm trying to figure out ways to take up the room under the "4R".

I'd argue for the state outline instead of the US flag- when are you going to have your 4-runner in a different country (other than Canada and Mexico)? How often might you be in a different state? Alot more likely. A toyota symbol might not be bad either. For people who don't know, 4ROC doesn't really tell you much about what the club is about.

We can't use the toyota logo, copyright infringement. I think there was a point brought up that there are lots of square shapes states that would be indistinguishable or not obvious. Outline, flag or abbreviation up to the chapters seems cool to me.

Would still love to have the .psd file for this logo... Gene? Is there a Gene in the house?

I'm going to have to say that I like the state shape idea better than my flag idea. The state logo along with the abbreviation looks pretty good. Now the only thing I don't really like is that the "R" doesn't extend all the way to the bottom.

Also what about doing the state and abbreviations in the background colors?

If you dont mind, Ill take care of making a .pdf or whatever version Logo for each state. That way, we can keep them uniform because I know exactly the size and design that the letters should be for the state abreviations. Just ask me to make one and Ill do it.

Prolax, could you make one for WA if you don't think mine will work?

Thanks,

David

How about including the VA as needed and then leaving the rest to me? .psd not .pdf format, and I don't need to change size or design, just colors and textures. Deal? Otherwise I'm open to suggestion ...

David,

I REALLY like your avatar with the outline of the state on the sticker. I bet other states would look good like that too.

Thanks, I think so too!

WA should be having its first meeting in a couple weeks. It looks like we're going to have at least two divisions, west and central, due to the distance seperating some of the members.

Scottiac and I, hopefully more, are going to chat tonight about CA. I was thinking that it may be easier to have a North and South District for the same reasons, but right now there's hardly any motivation down here!

Yeah, its the same isssue with the national vs. state chapter- if a state has multiple divisions, is there a state organization in which dues are paid, and divied up by distict, or does each district collect their own dues, etc. I'm leaning towards just having a set of officers for the state, all districts have the same sticker, and each district has to organize their own meetings. There would be annual state 4ROC jams that would be hosted by different districts from year to year, when we would all get together. Possibly have online meetings for districts once in a while.

Wow... you guys are already splitting up into regions of states??? Seems to me like we're getting ahead of ourselves. We dont have to live 10 miles away from eachother to be in the same group. I say we should keep it as whole-states only, for now atleast.

We're not talking about 10 miles, but more like 100 or more (remember, WA is a pretty big state!). It isn't reasonable to expect people to drive for 3 hrs on a weeknight to attend a 1 hr meeting- this is the driving force for districts.

We will likely just have one logo, and probably just one set of officers for the whole state, so it won't affect any future organization into a national group.

To bring back a dead thread.. but does anyone have or know who might still have the file for the orginial logo. I am considering starting up a Maryland chapter when I return to the states in Dec and would like it for the website and if no one is working on the national 4ROC.org I would also be willing to take that on also. Thanks again
