Just saw an FJ Cruiser!

I saw one at the local autoshow, and i must say, its is sweet! 4.0 L V6 with VVT-I, 6-speed manual tranny, rear-locker, 32'' tires, 238 HP 278 FT/LBS. of torque . OOUUUU, i can't get enough of it. The suicide doors are a pretty neat feature.
And Toyota thought of a good idea about putting the oil-filter above the the wheel wells. Oil-changes made easy.

Now you guys got me looking at them. I just finished going to the Toyota website.
They're luring to say the very least. I like the silver color.
I can't imagine being able to get one for the listed MSRP...and the AT is cheaper than the 6spd. I decided to get on the mailing list for any updates too.

Well, just talked with my dealer again, yep, no white.
But...I can live with Titanium Metallic.
I am going in on Monday after I get off work to enquire more about them.
Special order ones of course will take longer, as many are already made up for dsitribution to many dealers here in the PNW.
Most are coming in first with auto tran. and rear lockers
That is the only way I would get one.
Later in the year they are going to have special editions with some form of black.
The Titanium one though would have a white top.
Maybe one day I can get it painted all white.

I am keeping my rig.
I may pilpher from it such as the Hella 500s, the winch, ect.
And the sub and amp is coming out for sure, as is the CB.
The rig will be stored at my sisters, and one day I may put another engine in it.
This is of course if I do decide to go ahead and get an FJ.
I am not one for payments, have not made payments on a rig since '90.
But I am making excellent $$$ right now, and in need of reliable transportation.

Click on FJ Bulletin
http://www.toyota.com/vehicles/future/fjcruiser.html
Then click into the pics and vids.
There is a pic of the rig with a Hi-Lift raising it.
I wonder if this is factory, or if they have rock sliders on the sides?

Dang, I am a chompin' at the bit here.
I am up to the Rubicon #3 video, but gotta get back to work.
Time to drool later.
Very nice vids on that link, and about 5 pages of vids.
You know, when I first saw this rig I was not really interested in it, but that has since changed.
If my rig had not gotten in the state it is now, I would not really be looking at these to much.

Corey, I just checked with the region and there will only be 9 of the model you want (4704, Code D w/RR locker, in 2JR Titanium) released at intro, and it's the second most ordered model. Slim pickins for a couple months. All will also have alloy wheels (AL) and convenience package (CQ) that you probably don't want, and then dealers will be dressing them with all kinds of PPO's to boot.
You'll probably need to order to get exactly what you want. If you preference before April 1st, it'll get into the May build, June arrival. Waiting and hoping Doxon gets allocated what you want could take even longer.
If you proceed, see what kind of trade-in value they'll give, get it in writing signed by a manager, and have them hold to that value barring any collision damage and no deduct for reasonable additional mileage, and an MSRP deal. That's about the best you'll do for this year until late December.

They called me today, and it looks like I will have to order mine they said.
Hittin' them up in 30 minutes when I get out of here.
I want the factory sliders, and a few other ops, so it is best to wait on what I want.

So I went down to the 4Wheel Parts Truck expo last weekend at the San Mateo County Expo Center. As we were driving in, back in a small fenced in yard, and having NOTHING to do with the truck expo sat the following 3 FJ's. These guys look better in person than in photos. Apparently, Toyota is introducing them to their dealers for the next two weeks. They will be hitting dealer showroom next wednesday or thursday. There is quite a big demand. One dealer I called said they had 70 deposits already paid. Most (80%) are automatics. The only problem I saw right off is very limited visability for rear seat passengers.
