Well, someone asked AJ if he could do a version of square sliders, so I was his guinea pig for measurements....

Here are some pics, I think the square sliders look substantially better then the round ones. The square seems to match the 'boxy' overall look of the FJ better, IMO. They also feel stronger...and are a very nice step to have; since they sit flat.

In the last few pics, I demonstrated WHY most sliders stick "out" as far as they do. Lets see some stock rock rails smash into a concrete filled 48" tall bollard!

Too bad for me, we only had time to do one side! I have a square slider on one side, and a round one on the other!

Are you making the switch, or sticking with the round ones?

 

Seems like there is very little support on one of those ends. I wonder how much they flex when you drop onto something...
