Valve cover gaskets replaced, leaking again

I replaced my valve cover gaskets with a nice felpro setup about 1-2 years ago. Now they are excessively leaking again. Can I just tighten the bolts? If so, how much? 1/4 turn 1/2 turn?

Thank you.

Did you originally put in some sealant at the cam corners? I guess it would depend on how hard the gasket is or if it's cracked. It would be best to replace it as tightening has limited success as the gasket has already shrunk.

I had a local shop do it, so I'm not sure if they used sealant or not. They probably didn't. You know how that goes...

I replaced them 2x and gave up as they werent leaking bad. I suppose I could try for a third time using some grease perhaps on the gasket to perhaps promote better sealing but I gave up.

If they are leaking take it back.
