Throttle body bypass

Reading the thread about the spark plug type, I was interested in the TB bypass comment. I read a little more on line and there were differing opinions on this mod. I live in the deep south so it's warm here most of the time, but one comment my Gadget said you actually get icing in the hot weather not cold weather. Anybody have any other info on benifits or bad issues with doing the TB bypass? I want to try and do several things to try and cool the engine cause I have the TRD s/c. I know you can put in the 170 degree thermostat, but was curious about the TB bypass.

I think Gadget is a little off on that if that's what he said, from what I've read its more likely in humid climates, but humidity and warm temps often go together. If you look at carb icing problems (I know we don't have a carb but the trend may be the same) here's some info on that. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carburetor_icing

Any how, I've run both with and without the bypass mod and saw no difference either way. Currently my coolant is going through the TB.

Hey tweak away, maybe you'll see something I missed. I might bypass it one more time and see if I can notice something.

Not related to the TB bypass...but if you want to keep the supercharger from gitting heat soaked...you could try a custom intake manifold gasket...

Something similar to this...

These guys might be able to cut one fer the 5vzfe intake manifold...

contact Lloyd Barnhill at info@GizzmoUSA.com or 888-639-9750

You could probably even put in a thermal blanket around the SC so it doesn't pick up any extra heat from under the hood...
