Yea I was thinking about dumping some Moroso ceramic seal in it, just to hold to I get the money to redo the gasket or another motor! Then I could take my time and rebuild this one, learn as I go so Im never in this spot again!

 

If you were intending on rebuilding it, you probably don't want to use that stuff. Unless you want part of your learning experience to be figuring out how to remove it from wherever it decides to stick itself in the engine. Of course I don't know for sure what that stuff is, or does, exactly. But frankly, dumping something with the word ceramic in the name into my motor oil...would scare the piss out of me. Since materials termed ceramic are always solid, and generally have a relatively high degree of hardness. Meaning, they can resist abrasion well, but can be very abrasive to softer materials(e.g. non-hardened metals, rubber, plastics, etc.). I just can't see it doing more good than harm. And if the product performs like many of the other solidifying leak stoppers(i.e. Blue Devil, Steel Seal, etc.), it will harden up in a lot more places than where the leak happens to be. Causing oil and/or coolant passage blockages. Which will end up having a high likelihood of causing even more damage than the condition it was supposed to fix. And be one hell of a PITA to rectify when all's said and done.

Not to mention having to apply certain precautionary measures before you're even supposed to use it. As in...
So, still sounding like a good idea?

PS, a head gasket job done yourself(minus any machining necessary) shouldn't cost you ANYWHERE near $1000, let alone $1990. You can buy an ENTIRELY rebuilt engine for that. Should cost you more in the $500 range with OEM parts, less with non-OEM. Man...the NONSENSE folks be spewing on this site...good grief!!!

 

Well curiosity killed the cat but not my yota! Sorry mud hippie I ran the moroso ceramic seal and it worked! I talked to the guy at the engine shop where I got it. It can be used in vehicles with antifreeze you just have to completely flush it out and make sure their is none in the rad when you use the product. So I flushed it out dumped a gal of water in, the moroso, then topped it off with water. Ran it all day pulled in my garage started to let it drain with truck still on removed rad cap stuck my hose in it and flushed until clear. Turned off the truck let it all drain out and let it sit over night so it could really seal. In the morning I filled it back up with half and half and I have no more problems... For now anyways lol
