Oil level related to ease of gear shifting
Hi and thanks for all the best info on the T100!
I have been driving around town a bit, shifting a lot of gears.
1996 2.7 4-cylinder, rear wheel drive.
It became difficult to get into first gear sometimes at stoplights, and I would shift into 2nd and then into 1st to make it easier.
After checking my oil, the level was at the bottom of the acceptable dipstick level.
So I added a quart, and now it shifts like no problem.
So would this be because enough oil gives the engine enough compression to power other things like the tranny/clutch/synchromesh/shifting?
Just curious how after adding one quart of engine oil, I can shift no problem easy every time. Same outside temps, same driving around town for 4-8hr.
Thanks very much
