my seals freeze all the time, it's the moisture on them. take a clean/dry rag to 'em once your rig has cooled down, the warmth of running it can cause condensation which will in turn freeze... I think some graphite or similar rubbed into the rubber should work, Im going to try it on mine, they just froze again last night...
There's a scene in "We were soldiers" where the troops are piss'in on the mortar tubes to cool them down... talk about secret uses... a heating and cooling agent... lol

Dupont Snow and Ice repellent?! what is this?

I have seen hot mortar tubes...that would smell bad

i always treated my locks with the graphite stuff when I lived in Alaska and NY...carried a lighter to heat the key if it was stuck.

That's exactly what I've always done. Initially I was heating the key with the torch, but no matter how hot it got, it just wouldn't cut it.

wow. never ran into it so bad that heating the key didn't work except for Ice storms.
I wonder if you are getting moisture seeping down by the lock as the truck is warmed up...pull the door panel maybe come up with some kind of shield, flap or something to go over mechanism inside the door...just thinking off the top of my head

what i found worked to heat the lock or key is a camping tool. not sure the name of it off the top of my head, but i got it at rei. its pretty much a case for a lighter but it turns the flame more the a torch would. its nice because its only a little bigger then a lighter but it gets hotter and turns the flame away from your hand
