97 T100 Windshield Wiper Fuse Keeps Blowing
Hi T100 owners. I am brand new to the site and looking for help in diagnosing why my windshield wiper fuse keeps blowing. When this first occurred I thought my wiper motor was the issue. I installed another used wiper motor and the fuse keeps on blowing. I'm now wondering if the problem (short) may be in the switch? When I pushed the w/s washer button on the wiper switch the washer does activate. My first question is can I remove the upper and lower plastic steering wheel coverings and check my w/s wiper switch without removing the steering wheel and air bag? Second, is it possible to verify that the w's wiper motor is operational if it is not installed on my truck. I ask this because I don't know for sure if the used replacement motor is good? Third, I looked at a wiring schematic for my truck and it looks like the w/s wiper motor and washer motor are the only two things on the circuit. Is this correct?
Thanks for any input,
Tom

Hi Tom - sorry for slow reply here, I'm not on the site often. You might also try this discord resource: https://discord.gg/CB6ZpPUrYK Navigation links down the left side actually has a windshield wiper specific one, the wiring diagram there shows yes the motor & washer are on a dedicated circuit.
My only constructive thought is your ground, any intermittent ground will blow the fuse. The diagram shows the only ground is thru the wiper motor. Any rust where it's mounted? Maybe add a separate ground wire from motor to a known good grounding point?

After replacing the w/s wiper motor and checking to make sure the ground was good, I decided to take a chance with replacing the w/s wiper switch. Taking the steering wheel off was a bit of a challenge considering the air bag but replacing the switch was the problem for my truck.
