So, I've been doing some research about the difference between
1995 Toyota T100 SR5 V6 4X4

and

1997 Toyota T100 SR5 V6 4X4 (my NEW rig!!!)

.... i am looking for a lift kit. nothing fancy, just a basic drop down style with blocks. mall crawling and the occasional dirt road.

All the kits that I've found are only advertised for a 95/96. Little to no one has this kit. I've searched MarlinCrawler, TrailGear, ALLPro, Tuff Country, Smitty Built, Pro Comp, Fab Tech, list goes on

My question is, what is the difference between the 1995 and the 1997 that the 95 kit will or will not fit/bolt up to the 97??

My understanding is that NOTHING has changed. They should both have the same front knuckles, torsion rods, mounts, etc. Unless the subframes for the front diffs are different. But why would Toyota change/redesign this (in 95) knowing that the truck will be discontinued 3 yrs later???

I'm looking to purchase the SuperLift 4-5in lift kit, and its advertised up to the 95 model.

 

also... the rear suspension....
are the leafs/shackles same as the hilux or the tacoma. because i've found several items where the leaf packs and shackles are "bundled" into the same application category. meaning "Tacoma/T100" is the fitment.
is this correct?
