Knowing what kind of vehicle and year would help.

Run a pair of 12volt batteries in series to create 24VDC..............drive this into your headlights and they will be REALLY BRIGHT................just before they BURN THE FILAMENT OUT.........
buy new bulbs...........REPEAT.............

Rally Lights sells harness upgrades along with everything else you'd want to get better lighting. I went through Daniel Stern Lighting and got Cibie H4 lamps, an upgraded relay harness(which came from Rally Lights) already built and ready to plug in, and Osram 65/70W +50 bulbs. I've since switched over to Hella 90/130W bulbs.

The difference in output really is amazing. It was the first thing I did to my 4Runner since the stock lighting is dangerous.
