hi guys i have a 86 4runner with a 4y motor and the other night i noticed the tail lights are not working i have checked the bulbs and the fuse and its fine i even checked it with the multimeter and i can hear and feel the tail light relay in the kickpanel click when i turn the headlights on i have checked for loose connections on the kickpanel fuse box and in the taillights and i dont have a trailer plug. any other places i should look or test? brake lights still work so does reverse and number plate light and so does the dash lights so only thing that does is the tailights and parkers any help would be great.

 

so after more testing i have found there is no power to the tail lights or the front parkers (markers) there is power to the relay then when i turn the lights on there is power to both sides on the tail light fuse but im not sure where to test after that. ideas?

Just what are you testing with and how??

If your license plate lights work you have battery voltage as far as where the harness splits and goes into the hatch.

I would clean the sockets and the bases of your bulbs real good
