Stuck Key:Where is the Interlock Control Unit
Vehicle: 1991 4-runner 4x4 SR5 AT
Issue: Key gets stuck in ignition after driving
Attempted resolutions: Changed ignition cylinder (came w new key) & changed ingnition switch.
Next step: online tech suggested changing the "Shift and Keylock Interlock Control Unit". It is a Electronic Control Unit located under the center console.
Question: anyone know where to start looking for this thing? I figure buying a new one will help me locate it but I don't want to drop the whole dash if I don't have to.

I found it! It's on the floor underneath the center console. Not the armrest between the seats, just forward of that. It's under the piece of plastic that surrounds the gearshift. Take the plasic housing off the gearshift and you will see a black plastic square (2.5 inches x 2.5 inches) on floor just forward of the gear shift. It has three brown wire harnesses coming out of it. I got a used one from a junkyard and my key no longer gest stuck in the ingnition. My truck has been sitting months for this? ARGH!!!!
I have a new problem now though. One I can't believe. Some SOB thief cut my freaking catalytic converter off. Seriusly, my muffler is still there as is the pipe going to the headers. I'm missing a 2 foot section of pipe with nice shiny hacksaw marks left. I seriously cannot believe this. What a world we live in.
