silver boxes wired to headlights?

Im going over all the "auxiliary" wiring the previous owner did because I had a fuse blow. when I went to change it I discovered 1/2 the fuses were the wrong ones for the slots according to the cover plate and that he wired things in by jamming wires under fuses....

so what the heck is this there is one for each headlight...

an HID ballast?

EDIT: he mentioned something about special headlights, not to use regular ones, and that there were spares in the glove box....

looks to me like an H.I.D ballast, or headlight inverter type thingy.

...doesn't it just completely suck when a P.O completely trashes a truck by "modding it"

cool thanks for the confirmation.

he didn't trash it I like most the mods but the wiring deal was a little unsettling and the fuses... man i have no idea what he was doing; a 20 in a 15 spot a 10 for a 20 ....

wait speaking of trashing didnt you build a wooden bumper????
