o2 sensor wire extending????

I was wondering if anyone knows the proper way the extend the o2 sensor wire on an 86 4runner. I have recently added a pacesetter header that has relocated the sensor, and the wire is not long enough. I have bought a brand new o2 sensor and before i go hacking into it i wanted to get some input. Thanks

If it is on an 22re it needs to be as close to the original place as possible . You can use a piece of wire the same gauge and soldier and put shrink tubing on it. I don't remember it is a shielded or not. If you move it to far from the original location it will have a problem with getting contaminated .
