I have a pigtail with a 4 flat plug I need to splice onto the 4 wires for my stock trailor wiring harness, but I am a little confused.

The pigtail has 1 white, 1 brown, 1 green and 1 yellow but the stock wires are 1 white, 2 green and 1 yellow.

Does anyone know how they match up, or do I need to break out the meter and guess and check?

white should be white, yellow should be yellow. and the brown/green vs g/g will be a 50/50 chance of getting it right. those are the Left turn, right turn.

 

I guess my problem is that I don't have a trailor to test it on, so in order from female to the 3 males, what circuts get wired into a 4 flat harness?

Example,

female=lights
1st male=brake lights
2nd male=left turn
3rd male = right turn.

See what I mean?
