1991 yota truck w/ the 3.0 wont start. pulled coil wire and spark is erratic and yellow not blue. im here at his house with very little for tools and its cold outside. when it does turn over the tach is very erratic and sits at zero the majority of the time.

seems like a coil to me but my bro is tight on cash and i dont want to through parts at it.

any easy ways to check a coil without a multimeter?

 

not the coil. I replaced it, while trying to start it i noticed fuel coming out of the air intake. any thoughts would be appreciated.
