Help me "Frankenstine" some Aux. lights

GOAL -My goal is to get some bright A** lights that i could use on the backroads so I dont hit any deer.

BUDGET -Budget is $200 but flexible.

CONCEPT -My idea is to pick up a pair of 8 inch light housings and then retrofit them with a set of HID bulbs. I see KC and other brands have HID lights but there too pricey for something i could make myself. Would this work? Anyone tried this? Pictures, opinions....

Thanks-Blake

I live in Deer Country. In my opinion, brighter lights are not going to help you avoid an accident with a deer...as most know, deer will straight up run into your vehicle at a stand still.

Why not just buy some Hella 550 driving lights? I think that will brighten up the road in front of you and I'm pretty sure these lights are no where near $200.

I agree with Toyvana. Brighter lights are not the answer all the time. i think lights with a greater beam pattern would be better. So ask yourself where you want to see more of. the side of the road (fog pattern) or further down the road (driving). Then search for a affordable light with the pattern you desire.

I already have some fog lights i just need to see way further down the road. The sides of the road are no problem for me. Any suggestions?

Hella is what i recommend. i have Hella BlackMagic Driving lights and what a difference. But for your price you should look at cheaper Hella or look for cheap PIAA.

I'll look them up. So no one can say anything for my idea? I thought it would work good.
