head lights shut off

head lights shut off

bought an 88 p/u today didnt bother to check the head lights. they worked at first but shut off after about 10 minutes. to get them back on i have to put it back and forth between high and low beams. dont really know where to start with thiis one. any ideas????

i would say that its a bad switch or relay, now if u where to let it sit for a little bit will it work for another 10 mins then do the same thing? if so its over heating something in the switch or relay.

i put a new relay in and that seemed to fix the problem but for some reason my highbeams dont work unless you pull the switch back, my lights worked for about a half hour then the highbeam indicator light went on and my lights shut off ? could this be the switch?
