Determining EFI CPU year/model without label
When I bought my 4Runner the guy gave me a bucket-o-parts with it. There's an EFI cpu in there but the label is basically gone. Is there a way to figure out which computer it is without the label? I have no use for the cpu so I'd like to sell it or give it away. I'm not hopeful there's a way to figure out; but maybe pin count? or check a resistance across some pins? TIA

You can open it up and if it has a 2 circuit boards its an auto, Only 1 its manual.
The second board is ECT.
The manual trans versions are universal 2WD or 4WD, Not sure about the auto version for the A340H but after looking over the wiring schematics and seeing how the A340H is wired wouldn't be hard to fix it to work 2WD or 4WD.
The A340F can use the auto 2WD or 4WD version. (And be able to use OD)

Is there a way to tell if it's for 2.4L i4 or the 3.0L v6? I also thought that even between different engine years there were different computers? i.e. a 1986 2.4L EFI wouldn't work in a 1990 2.4L EFI....
