Smile Custom Harness Sweeet! don't do this

Small problem or big tbd. the battery hold down came loose from the j bolt and still had good connection at the body, went sideways to the positive terminal of the battery. Awesome. Truck died and let the smoke out from a good amount of wires and connectors before i got the hold down off the + terminal. Looks like mostly ground wires heated up, melted some connectors, and other wires in the harness from the alternator toward the front of the truck. I have an ebay alternator harness on the way..photo looked good not sure what im gonna get.

so my questions are what more or other problems can I expect to find?

where are all the grounds located so i can check those out too since that seems like thats where the melting was happening. the one to the valve cover had been left disconnected and did not burn up.

sounded like a very slight buzzing noise from the wiper motor or charcoal can after the battery had been disconnected, any help is very much appreciated. Thanks

It could be a real help if you like kinda tell us just what year??

If it is a 4runner or Truck ??

At this point you might be better off to just see what area the damage is limited to see if you can repair or if it is easier to replace.

It is a

1991 pickup 4cyl 5 speed 4x4 p/s a/c

Ill replace and repair what is obviously burnt. Still waiting for a used alternator harness. Got some miscellaneous wires from pick n pull...way too expensive unfortunately.

Thanks

Well you have to figure out just what damage you did.

Start with the basic

Starting

Charging

Ignition

Lights

Just work through things
