crazy lites

driving down the road i hadmy headlites go out and the dummy lite for the brights come on, has this happened to anyone else. how did you fix it.

The dummy light?
When you say your headlights went out, you mean like the blew out as you were driving or they just shut off randomly?

Year and model would help, too.
