blowing fuses
We have a 2003 tundra and it keeps blowing fuses right and left. Specifically the fuse for the dash panel. It blows when ever you try to put it into gear. And even when the fuse is replaced it seems to be sucking the energy from the battery. We keep having to jump start the truck. Battery is pretty new tested it and it's fine at this time. I'm afraid it will end up killing the battery if this keeps up. And add to the list of repairs needed. I realize this sounds like a short and it's probably grounding out right? But what does the dash fuse have to do with the gear shift? Help. I'm a little bit mechanically inclined and I don't have anyone to ask for help and can't afford to take it to a mechanic so if you can give me some advise and walk me through what ever I need to do (within reason) I would be so grateful. I have done some basic repairs on the truck so I'm not completely mechanically challenged. Thanks for any help in advance.

Not real sure about the Tundra so just a guess.
I think they are all automatics??
After the fuse opens the transmission shifts like it should ??
I am thinking the back up lights or the switch is shorted so every time you shift through reverse it opens the fuse.
Only thing i can think of if the transmission shifts fine other wise.
