86 toyota 4x4 keeps going through alternators, I pulled the harness from the unit and checked all terminals. all were hot. why? Of course the main white was hot but the tree in harness were hot white, yellow, and red. shouldn't the power becoming from the alternator to charge battery? which color should be the charge wire? the red and both whites light up brightly on test light the yellow is dim but there is power there any help would be appreciated thanks . Always been a ford man this is my first toyota.
