alarm acting up after installing red top bat.

i just changed my battery and i put in a Optima red top and now my alarm is weird. when i unlock my truck with the button the truck will turn the alarm on by itself. its really annoying when the door is open and the alarm goes off all the time. there is a switch under my dash that doesnt seem to do anything. oh and the red dot flashes super fast when i lock the truck and flashes slower when its open, but it always flashes. this started happening when i changed the battery.

feel free to ask questions cause i need help with this

OEM or aftermarket?
If it's aftermarket I would start by going to the installer and asking them if they know what's going on. Maybe the act of removing the battery messed up the alarm's programming?

I know of no factory TOYOTA alarm that has a switch under the dash.

This is probably a dealer installed non factory.

Normally the trunk feature is programmable so I imagine the programming is messed up.

And I have installed many, many alarms.

My guess is that the alarm is in a failsafe mode 'cause it thinks that someone pulled the battery (or otherwise cut the power) to try to bypass it.

You're gonna need to figure out what the alarm is (mfg and model) then track down the programming instructions for it.
