Adding a Turn Signal?
#1
Are the front marker lamps supposed to be a turn signals in addition to being parking lights
? I don't think they are on my 93 Runner, unless I screwed up wiring rebuilding the front end - would it be hard to add one into the fender?
This is kind of a safety concern that I have - not that people pay attention to turn signals anyway - but I'd assume that if you were approaching my truck at a 90* angle to the front, you would not be able to see my front turn signal on the bumper. I'm just OCD about some of these things I guess

Nope, they are merely park/clearance lights. Several members have added signal lights into them, all you would have to do is run wires from the signal wiring to the parklight housing, and install a bulb setup, OR wire it into a 2 filament bulb (currently uses a 1 filament bult)

Actually on euro/aus spec trucks there is a seperate turn signal lamp that goes in the corner marker housing. If you look at the back of the lamp you can see a circular light hole usually not drilled out or else capped facing side ways below the main lamp socket. You could add a small lamp/socket unit there and wire it into the bumper lights if you wanted to.
I think the original lamp would have been a 194 size but I'm not sure.
