my runner had low amp turn over on starting, slow like a low batt. the battery is only 1 year old, and i have noticed for a while some kind of low pitched whine while running. i only did 2 starts (slow turns) and then experienced the low batt clicking. right away i popped the hood and felt the alt which was very hot. did the alt bearing go and should the alt be so hot so fast. it does remind me of chevy type prob long ago. it charges because the alt light does not go on once running which is right away. however i do not want to seize up and ruin my belt. lucky the wife made it to home driveway. any ideas before i swap alt out? thanks joe.
