87 door jamb switch
I just got this truck for free and the dome light didn't work at all. All the electrical is a mess.
I took it down and cleaned everything. I can now get it to come on in the "ON" position. But the door jamb switches don't seem to be working. Can they be cleaned.
I read in another thread something about the seat belt buzzer being tied to it. Well my buzzer doesn't work either. But I'm not sure if it's the same year that I read about.

Perhaps test the switch to see if it does work They do fail after this many years.
When the switch is closed it allows the circuit to be grounded.
Yes it is tied into the seat belt warning as well
If your wiring is a mess maybe find a copy of Toyota`s Electrical wiring Diagrams for your vehicle

I think the switch is good. When the key buzzer is buzzing I can make it go off and on by pushing the switch.
I read similar thread. If I understood it right I think it said I'm supposed to have 12v at the plug on the horn all the time. Well I do not. The only way I can get 12v is to put one probe in the plug and the other on the neg battery terminal. So maybe my plug is bad.
