Anyone ever run into this issue before

I have a 2004 tundra sr5.

When riding in normal 2wd the 4 hi light button will blink as well as the dash light notification. Mind you I have not touched the button at all and not tried to put it in 4wd. The actuator will actually try to engage and disengage randomly as well.
My husband says prob electrical issue but I was curious to see if anyone else has ran into this before.

Sounds like something is grounding back through that circuit.
