2002 4Runner Headlight wiring question....

2002 4Runner Headlight wiring question....

I'm wondering which color wire on my '02 4Runner controls the high beams? Many thanks in advance.

It depends on whether or not you have DRLs. With DRLs the high beams are powered by a red/blue wire on the left and a red/white on the right. Without DRLs the headlights are ground switched and power is supplied by a red/blue on the left and a red/black on the right. The high beams are selected by grounding the red/yellow wires through the switch.

thanks for the reply....I must confess ignorance...I don't know what you mean by DRL.

DRL - Day Running Lights. You should have 1/2 power low beams on when engine is running if you have DRL on your truck. Some States and Canada requires them.
