2002 4 runner

Has anybody heard of this? If I go and get in the pass. side and crank my 4 runner up long enough to charge a cell phone for about 5 min. then cut off and hit the power locks. When I come back in about 5 hrs. the battery is dead! Jump it off and drive for 20 miles and it is good as new! It has blown the front drivers side fog lamp 3 times and never the right. Thanks Guys!!

Are you sure your headlights aren't being left on when you leave the truck? With the auto headlights (if you leave the switch in the on position) when you shut down the truck, you have to open the driver's door to shut off the headlights. If you turn the headlight switch off, this is not an issue. Obviously, it would be pretty hard to miss the headlights being left on by mistake at night, but I've done it during the day before because of this.

For your blown fog lamp, I'm not sure. Do you have any aftermarket lights tied to that circuit that could have questionable wiring?

Hi GSGALLANT, What a idiot I am !! You have hit it and I have talked to others who couldn't come up with it. This happened at work in the daytime and I never thought of the head lights not cutting off when the engine is off!! Thanks!

mad props GSGALLANT

I never understood my auto headlights until I read your post.

I sometimes come back to my truck and when I start it up the headlights are already switched on. It was driving me crazy... all makes sense now
