1985 22re neutral/park safety switch

1985 22re neutral/park safety switch
on my 1985 22re there are two pairs of wires that plug into neutral/park safety switch.one has two larger spades ,the other has two smaller spades.. anyone know why there are two pair

I would venture something has been swapped or replaced and the last owner was not skilled enough to repin the harness plug .
Then it might have been a emergency repair that was never fixed correct because it worked.
No way to really know unless you can track down just who made the changes
