Remote start keyless entry reccomendations

I have a 99 tacoma. The truck is an SR5 model. Looking to get a remote start for it would like to have keyless entry too. Don't really need the alarm but if I have to have it to get the rest it's fine. I don't really need a super fancy alarm and don't want to spend a lot of money. Your reccomendations?

Dont get a remote start, if the battery ever goes dead it will go haywire. Not only that but the monkeys that install them (if you dont do it yourself) are idiots, cant tell you how many of them I seen go haywire.

I would look into just a keyless entry system.

My 98 has the dealer installed TDS keyless with remote start, never had a problem with it, other than the plastic loop breaking where the metal loop goes through. I went to the dealer, they wanted $50 for a new one, I found one on ebay for $9 and switched the guts instead of trying to reprogram.

Was that just an option on 4runners or did they offer that on tacomas also?

i guess it doesnt really matter which system it is as long as its installed correctly and the connections are solid (no t-taps). make sure the installer has a good reputation and stands by their installation for the lifetime of the vehicle.
