Help with Alarm Removal

My 4runner has been in surgery for the last 4 months and we just got the front end almost completed(enough to put it on tires), well the battery died and my alarm reactivated and enabled the starter kill. I can't get it to disarm with the valet switch and the fob is broken and doesn't work. We called the original installer and they told us to cut the "black" wire to the starter off of the relay and it should be fine. We did this and it still won't start and I need to get this alarm off it. Any help would be appreciated. The alarm is a DEI Rattler 300 series IIRC.
Thanks in advance.

Take off the knee panel to get to the ignition/starter wires. If I remember right it's a black wire in a wire bundle. What you're looking for is a relay probably about 1" cube in size that is on the starter wire. Remove the relay and splice the starter wire back together. That should put you back in business.

Yeah we had done that. I think he didn't cut the right part of the wire. It was fine after someone came to help remove it. It runs nice now.

Good. Glad you got it running again. I like the idea of starter kill but also have run into a few problems with the alarms konking out. The 2nd gens are sooo easy to steal though. I don't like going without one. I just put a LoJack on my 94 4runner yesterday and in the not to distant future I'm planning on putting on a custom starter kill. I like the magnetic reed switches. I think they make for a nice stealthy addition as one of the security components.
