I bought my 91 yota hilux surf with a compustar 2way remote starter/alarm allready installed. Previous owners told me the remote start worked for them. I can not get the reserve mode set. I follow all steps.1-neutral 2-e-brake 3-realease foot brake.. I can hear all relay's going off.. At this point i should be able to turn the key and remove it while the engine remains running.. But it doesnt.. It all ways shuts off. Ive taken it to a couple local specialist with no results. Next is to spend big $ on program trouble shooting.. Anyone have any ideas.. Am I just missing something stupid??

do the lights flash if you just lock and unlock it? If the battery was disconnected or replaced compustars reset and start in valet mode, therefore will not let you remote start even if your doing the reservation mode. Let me know I install compustars at the shop i can definitely help. Thanks

 

Yeah, the lights flash.. I do believe one of the batteries were replaced just before I bought it.. Oh man I really hope you can help.. It sure would be great to get this working.. And the turbo timer (run time) after I exit the truck..

Ok sounds good, well id like to see if you could get me a model number on the module under your dash and on the remotes if possible, are you sure its an alarm/remote start or just a keyless/remote start?
