When is it that you tell them that we are with YT? Or do you order it a different way then the usual way?

As you go through the ordering process, there's a box for "additional information". Mention Yotatech in there.

Do you mean if it can work with an igntion system that uses an immobilizer? Yeup, there's an add-on module that will take care of this.

You might want to drop a line to Ryan (ryan@slickcar.com) to be sure. He's the support guy for Commando.

Thank you. What I meant was if the Commando has a version that includes an immobilizer and can be installed on a vehicle without an immobilizer.

Thanks.

I would call him. He's a pleasure to talk to and will help you out as best he can. He's a standup guy. The install isn't that bad as others have already said, just time consuming the first time you do it.

Hey guys I saw this link on ebay for the same alarm system. I don't know about warranty or product support, but it seems like a good price at $100.00.

Yeup, great price and if that picture is correct, it's the same system.

Thanks for the info Bob. Unfortunately, I was too late for the Christmas special. Do you know if there are any people interested in the group buy? If not, should I post my own group buy?

Well I just picked up one of these on ebay and the instructions aren't very straight forward, anyone done a diy on this yet? Or have a link to what wires I need to get?

What are you guys talking about? There's a good bit of info here, but there are also a couple of discussions about the "safety" factor of putting the specifics online about how to install a remote start/alarm system.

Background info from you guys would help...

Los, what kind of a vehicle are you putting this into? Your profile only says that you're working on VW's.

Massimo, what are you trying to do with your Camry? We may not know specifics around here (we're a 4Runner & Tacoma forum) but we can help with generalities.

Sorry I guess i never updated my profile, i got a 98 4runner back in feb. v6 manual. I know putting the remote start in would be a pain in the manual, but the biggest thing i want is keyless entry and a few of the options this has.
Is there a wiring diagram i could find? Some of the people in the buy got access to a link that showed what wires connected to what, is that still available?

In general, the link would still be there, but I think that Ryan keeps it active for only so long before he rotates out the password.

You'll have to ask him about it... ryan@slickcar.com

The system will take some time the first time around, mine was 6 hours, most of that is hunting wires, double checking to be sure you have the right ones, etc. and then playing with the programming. To do it again the time is a lot shorter of course...

To do this safely on a manual, you'll have to wire into the neutral switch. The 870 has that input, and I think one of the guys here on YT did use it.

There are other 870 threads here... You may want to hop into those, 'specially one talking about putting a writeup online, and ask for under-dash wire colors if you can't get ahold of Ryan.

Seeings howz this thread is 5 months old, and Ryan had an original cap on it at 12/14, I dun't tink so. But, the regular price of the system is a good deal to begin with!
