Alarm removal

My '91 4Runner has an alarm and remote start the previous owner had installed.

My question is can I just cut the wires and remove it?
There is two boxes with a lot of wires ran to it. I dont have a clue where exactly they go. I need some more space under my dash.

Cut them as close to the connection in the vehicle as possible and make sure to tape all cut ends. The only thing you may have to do is put the starter wires back together at the steering column. Should be a simple task.
