Alarm/power door lock istallation problem
Hello all.
This is my first time installing an alarm and converting manual door locks to power door locks. Before I bought anything I searched the forums and saw that first-time installers were able to do-it-themselves. So I decided to take the plunge.
I downloaded all the diagrams for my 1991 Toyota pickup V6 4X4.
I bought 2 Door Power Lock Kit (universal) from Commando Alarms and bought the Viper 1002 1-Way Security System.
Its embarrasing but it took my buddy and I ALL DAY and we could not figure it out. We got the alarm installed and working. We simply could not figure out how to wire the actuators to the alarm. We could not locl/unlock with the remote. We tried every single combination and still drew a blank. I do not like to give up and want to give it one more shot. We searched the forum, we googled, and we youtube'd and still could not get it.
Can someone please help? What is the proper wiring for these actuators to my alarm?
Gabe

you need to add some relays, go to this link:
http://www.directechs.com/Docs/TechTips/1041.pdf
go to page 7, type D aftermarket actuators and it should walk you through how to do the install. You can pick up a relay at almost any automotive store or audio installation shop. you have the newer style viper alarm so i dont think it came with the relay in the box. if it did come with a 451m relay, let me know and i can show you how to wire that one up instead.
good luck

Thank Jason.
Man I was so tired and frustrated with the whole thing, I simply gave up.
Woke up the next day and I was about to take it to a stereo shop and decided to give it another shot.
It must have been fresh eyes or something b/c I got it on my first try.
