'94 4Runner Clifford Alarm Bypass
#1
My mechanic recently told me after my car died while idling in park that my clifford alarm system needed to be bypassed, new neutral safety switch and ignition were needed. $1,200 out the door and he then informed me that I had a broken timing belt. I decided I would tackle the timing belt myself and once I had finished the job, the car still wouldn't start. Turns out the fuel pump wasn't priming, so I jumped from B+ to FP in the diagnostic box and the fuel pump immediately began to prime. Went back to my mechanic and told him thus and he said that he highly doubts it had anything to do with the splicing and bypass job they did on the security system or the ignition. From what I can tell and what the internet seems to say, there is every chance something didn't get hooked up right and now the fuel pump won't get power when I turn the key. I don't know too much about the electrical and wiring systems in my 3.0 3VZ-E, hoping someone on here might be able to shed some light on this for me.
